WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) โ A Marathon County woman accused of beating and strangling another woman in a 2024 road rage incident will go to trial in July.
Terra LaFave will face two felony counts for strangulation or suffocation and battery causing substantial bodily harm on July 9th and 10th.
Police say she beat a woman near the intersection of Clubhouse and Ringle Roads in rural Marathon County. The victim was choked and beaten to the point where she couldnโt break for 30 to 45 seconds. When first responders arrived, they found her lying on the road with a bloody face and swollen eyes.
The victim said she had just passed a vehicle traveling under the speed limit. As she continued on her way, the driver started flashing their headlights and turn signals at her. When she stopped at the next intersection to see if something was wrong, the driver confronted her and beat her.
Police say a witness told the couple he had a gun as he intervened.
If found guilty on all counts, the 50-year-old faces nine and a half years in prison. She returns to court on May 2nd for a final motion hearing.
