KRONENWETTER, WI (WSAU) — Kronenwetter Administrator Leonard Ludi has submitted his resignation, effective later this month.
In a statement to WSAU News, Village Board President Chris Voll said Ludi submitted a letter of resignation to the Village. His last day will be May 17th.
“He mentioned to me that it was time to move on. I hate to see him go,” said Voll.
Ludi was hired as the Village Administrator in January after serving just over three months as the Public Works Director for the Village. He interviewed for the position shortly after the village parted ways with Peter Kampfer, who had agreed to take the position but couldn’t provide a firm start date because of legal issues at his current employer in Texas.

Ludi had been the first full-time Administrator since the Village parted ways with Richard Downey in July 2022. Since then there have been numerous interim Administrators including Duane Gau, Police Chief Terry McHugh, former Plover Administrator Dan Mahoney, and Kim Manley. Mahoney also had an agreement with the Village to mentor Ludi for his first six months on the job.
It’s unclear when the board will meet to discuss their next steps after Ludi resigns.
